Rethinking Design

In Rethinking Design, Sameer Hashmi explores the frontline of global design where sustainability is central to our response to the pandemic. Visiting Dubai Design Week, he meets with an exciting line-up of international designers including Daniel Iregui from Studio Iregular, architect Jennie Binchy and Hani Asfour, Dean of Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation, to ask how design can affect far-reaching change and equip us to deal with the future. Dubai Design Week is one of the first major cultural events in 2020 to return in physical form since the beginning of the pandemic, and is host to a highly engaged design community at the forefront of reimagining design's purpose and promise. It is a collective challenge and calls for the industry to come together on a local and global scale.
