Keep Britain Tidy
Keep Britain Tidy’s work helps people take action for the environment on their doorstep, from our Great British Spring Clean that supports more than half a million volunteers, clearing up 230,000 wheelie bins worth of rubbish each year, to our Eco-Schools programme that supports children and young people making environmental change in their school and beyond the school gates.
Litter

Every year in this country, millions of small mammals die after becoming trapped in littered bottles and cans, and our oceans are becoming a toxic, plastic soup as a result of all the rubbish that is washed into our sewers and rivers. This year the problem has been exacerbated by all the single-use masks that so many of our volunteers are having to clear up from our streets, parks and beaches.
Volunteers

Our volunteers are at the heart of what we do. One of our amazing volunteers is primary school pupil Elizabeth Gadson from Wirral, also known as ‘The Little Collector’ who has inspired a group of children to form a litter-picking group. Her story shows that one person –– can make a big difference and individual actions can add up to something significant and powerful!
