WaterAid
2020 has been an uncertain year for us all. Here in the UK we can rely on clean water to wash our hands to help protect against COVID-19. But 1 in 10 people are still living without clean water, and it’s needed now more than ever. WaterAid has brought clean water to more than 27 million people around the world and it won’t stop until we reach everyone, everywhere.
Tiru’s story

Tiru grew up in Derekwa, Ethiopia, where water was always a worry. Every morning she spent nearly two hours collecting water from a spring, carrying a heavy jerry can through thick mud. The dirty water made her sick and she often missed school.
Future on Tap

Thanks to WaterAid, our local partners and people like you, Tiru’s village now has a reliable supply of clean water and the chance of a healthier and brighter future. Together this winter, we can reach many more people like Tiru.
