Antibiotic Research UK
We are a charity dedicated to fighting antibiotic resistant infections. Our mission is to support the development of effective treatments, to educate the public and professionals about antibiotic resistance, and to improve the quality of life for patients with antibiotic resistant infections.
Global health crisis

It is estimated there will be a staggering 10 million deaths worldwide by 2050 if no action is taken now. Resistance to antibiotics arises when natural bacteria in our bodies are no longer affected by the antibiotics we use.
Research urgently needed

Our focus is on preserving existing antibiotics. We fund research trials to find new antibiotic resistance breakers; these are existing medicines which can be used alongside antibiotics to keep them working.
Supporting people now

Our patient support service is staffed by experienced health care professionals. We run a telephone helpline and respond to email enquiries for people with antibiotic resistant infections.
