In More Detail.....

Raised bogs are rare habitats, created over thousands of years and in peak condition they help tackle climate change. One of the best examples of them is Cors Caron National Nature Reserve in Ceredigion which is one of the largest actively growing raised bogs within the project and has peat up to 10 metres deep in places. However, as Pauline Smith discovers, a complex history of management has resulted in the peat bog becoming drier and the diggers have moved in to protect and restore the peatland.
