Gingger Shankar has inherited her musical talent from a lineage that includes her grandmother, stalwart Lakshmi Shankar, mother Viji Subramaniam, father Dr L Subramaniam, and is the grand niece of Ravi Shankar. She’s worked with The Smashing Pumpkins, Katy Perry, Michelle Obama, and Jay-Z, and discusses her latest campaigning project, which is executive produced by Ava DuVernay, called “And She Could Be Next.”
