Niall Griffiths' Wales
Twenty years on from his iconic novel 'Grits', Niall Griffiths takes us on a tour of one of Wales’ least noticed but most fascinating areas.
'Grits' was Wales’ answer to Trainspotting when it was published in 2000. Niall Griffiths’ take on life in rural Wales in the late 90s smashed the stereotypical view of the green and pleasant land. His version of northern Ceredigion village life featured promiscuity, drugs, alcohol and petty crime.
Now, twenty years on, Niall takes us on a tour to meet some of the people who inspired his books and introduces us to mid Wales as he sees it.
Niall Griffiths' Wales is a place of great beauty and terrible roughness, of wonderful characters and worrying social problems.
This is Wales like you've never seen it before.
