Chelsea were awarded the 2019-20 Women’s Super League title on a points-per-game basis, having trailed Manchester City by a point but with a match in hand when the season was curtailed by the coronavirus pandemic. The close rivalry between the sides was illustrated in February’s league meeting in Manchester when a 3-3 draw included a breathless 16-minute spell of four goals and a saved penalty.
