BLM: A Sporting Perspective

As the world reacts and deals with the fallout from the death of George Floyd in the United States, sporting stars around the world have been making their own contribution to the debate.

As the world reacts and deals with the fallout from the death of George Floyd in the United States, sporting stars around the world have been making their own contribution to the debate.

Nesta McGregor looks at that reaction, examines to what extent racial prejudice exists in sport, and hears from athletes about what they can contribute to the ongoing fight against racism. He also talks to Tommie Smith, the man responsible for the most famous anti-racism protest in the history of sport, the Black Power salute on the podium at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City.
