Having won the British title last September in a 73-second knockout win over Jamie Wilson, subsequent victories over Iain Butcher and Kyle Williams mean that Farooq has the opportunity to defend his title for a third time and become the first British fighter of Asian heritage to win a Lonsdale belt outright. Southern area champion Winters comes to the ring in confident mood with a 10-1-0 record.
