Episode 8
Four workmates in Broughty Ferry compete for the Flour Power trophy. Business development manager Lennox, web developer Fraser and designer Jamie try to dethrone digital marketing analyst Becca.
In this episode we visit Broughty Ferry. Located just outside Dundee, a converted open-plan church houses graphic and brand consultancy Avian and web design and development agency Blue2. Combined, these two companies are a cake-making force with employees following a rota to bring in home baking every week. Their ‘cake Thursdays’ are a joy to behold but with the Flour Power trophy at stake, it just went up a notch!
Company newbie and business development manager Lennox, web developer Fraser and designer Jamie try to dethrone brilliant baker and digital marketing Analyst Becca.
Becca is an experienced baker and it shows as she puts together her chocolate and orange marble cake before decorating it in tribute to a famous Dundee institution.
Meanwhile, Lennox hopes her chocolate brownie pizza will help her ‘takeaway’ the trophy but can she pull it off? Jamie’s huge vegan cake gives our judges food for thought, as does Fraser's modest, but ultimately delicious, traybake cupcakes. Will taste triumph over presentation?
Joining series judge Nichola Reith to decide is Dundee baker Alan Clark, who knows a thing or two when it comes to cake!
Once all the workmates’ creations are revealed, tasted, judged and scored, just who will win the prestigious Flour Power trophy?
