Theodora Children’s Charity
At Theodora Children’s Charity we transform children’s experience of hospital from an environment that can be scary and isolating into a place of fun, play and laughter. We do this by sending professional performers, called Giggle Doctors, to bring moments of joy to children’s hospital bedsides.

Our presenter, young chef Ellis Barrie, first met the Giggle Doctors at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. Ellis explains: “When I first saw the Giggle Doctors bring laughter to sick children and making them feel comfortable, I had to get involved. For me it is evidence that humour makes people feel amazing.”
The People We Help
Our Services
The Giggle Doctors are performers specially trained to work in the medical environment. By using music, magic, storytelling and play they improve wellbeing and bring magical moments to children facing huge challenges with their health. Last year our 24 Giggle Doctors visited over 33,000 children throughout England.
