In 2018 it was American Patrick Reed who kept his nerve to protect an overnight lead, while the previous year saw a thrilling play-off between fellow Europeans Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose, with Spaniard Garcia ultimately prevailing to claim his first Masters title.
