Sean recalls watching pigs jostle for best position at a mountain scratching post, and worries that a local showband singer’s yodel has been lost. A listener claims to have watched Bob Dylan tell a funny story – Sean is dubious “He’d be disappointed in himself if laughed”. He’s also reluctant to believe that people buy wedding anniversary presents for each other, “Your tongue is black” he says. Sean wants to find a new opener for the show, it’s time to move on from Max Bygraves “Happy days are here again” – but what should he replace it with? Possibly Bonanza.... in the meantime, Sean is passing his evenings watching episodes of the Lone Ranger.
Music by Paul Simon, Marty Robbins, Billy J. Kramer, Zac Brown Band, Suggs and Rod Stewart.
