Kenton has a brainwave, and Lynda discovers the truth.
Elizabeth helps Kenton finalise plans for the Real Ale Drinkers' AGM. Kenton refuses to take the whole fee, even though he's doing her a favour. He points out that Lower Loxley's prices are higher anyway. But Elizabeth sees the fee as a drop in the ocean compared to their overall losses. Kenton's heard about a shopkeeper who, every time he had his licence suspended, simply transferred it into a different name. Kenton offers to take over the licence for Lower Loxley. Elizabeth's touched by his offer, but soon discovers it's too good to be true. The licence would still be suspended while the investigation is ongoing, whichever name was on the door. Kenton feels bad for getting her hopes up. Jolene's very glad Fallon isn't getting married there, although they wonder if The Bull needs a lick of paint before the reception.
Alice drops Fallon's hen party in it when she asks Lynda whether Constanza enjoyed her night time excursion. Lynda goes straight to Woodbine to demand that Harrison investigates the theft. Harrison argues that no harm was done, but Lynda is adamant - either he finds the perpetrator, or she'll report the incident to his superiors. Harrison doesn't relish the prospect of investigating his wedding guests.
