It is quarter-finals day at the prestigious International, where this time last year British fans were celebrating as home favourites Heather Watson and Johanna Konta both secured their place in the semi-finals.

Watson went on to lose to world number two Caroline Wozniacki, and it is a measure of the quality of the south coast tournament that both the Danish star and world number one Simona Halep are among the entries for 2018.
