More about the programme
The helpline run by the housing charity Shelter Cymru says it received "hundreds and hundreds" of calls after the formula that governs social rent increases allowed landlords to raise rents by as much as £300 a year from April.
Those calling the shots on rent rises say they have to balance the needs of their tenants against the 60,000 people in Wales who are waiting to get into social housing.
But with incomes for many stagnating, others are beginning to ask if affordable social housing remains affordable.
