Butterfly Conservation
Butterflies and moths are in trouble. Three quarters of UK
butterfly species and two thirds of our moths have declined in the last 40
years. This is a warning that can’t be ignored.
Butterfly Conservation
is the UK charity dedicated to saving butterflies, moths and our environment.
Our research provides advice on how to conserve and restore habitats. We run
programmes for more than 100 threatened species and are involved in conserving
hundreds of sites and reserves.
Workshops

Our workshops give children a chance to make that first
all-important connection with nature, to examine butterflies, moths and caterpillars
up close and play their part in helping these beautiful insects to thrive in
their school grounds and gardens.

Safe habitats

From the Red Admirals on your back garden buddleia bush to
the rare High Brown Fritillary hunkered down on the windswept expanses of
Dartmoor, Butterfly Conservation works to make safe habitat for butterflies and
moths.

Helping butterflies and moths recover

From urban areas, the countryside to nature reserves, we are
working to create and improve habitats to make sure butterflies and moths can
recover and have a home for the future.
