From the decadence of New Orleans to the pulsating rhythms of Baton Rouge, St Louis and Memphis, this evening's show follows the jazz roustabouts who first stepped on board the showboats and paddle steamers of the mighty Mississippi, bringing jazz north to the rest of America. For this annual jewel in the crown of the Festival, we present the sixty piece BBC Concert Orchestra and the Guy Barker Big Band, plus a host of renowned guest vocalists including Vanessa Haynes, Tommy Blaize and Lianne Carroll.
