The outline of a deal is done to bring back Stormont
The outline of a deal is done to bring back Stormont - but with an Irish language act at the heart of the brinkmanship, who has not kept their promise?.
Are we on the verge of yet another historic deal to restore power sharing in Northern Ireland? Prime Minister Theresa May and Taoiseach Leo Varadkar are to visit Belfast later for talks with the Stormont parties. There is no deal done yet, but it is believed the outline of an agreement is there. Or at least was there over the weekend. Irish language will be at the heart of this. The public will want to know which party was considering over the weekend going back on their promise. There is either going to be an Irish language act or there is not. Stephen spoke to BBC NI political correspondent Enda McClafferty, TUV MLA Jim Allister, SDLP MLA Nichola Mallon, Alliance MLA Stephen Farry, former DUP MLA Nelson McCausland, Tony Blair's former director of communications Alastair Campbell, Ciarán Mac Giolla Bhéin from Conradh na Gaeilge, political commentators Allison Morris and Alex Kane, loyalist blogger Jamie Bryson and Janet Muller from Pobal.
