Former IRA Woman Martina Anderson Hailed As Role Model

There's been criticism of a school's decision to make a former paramilitary their past pupil of the day. Saint Cecilia's college in Derry tweeted a picture of former student Sinn Fein MEP Martina Anderson, along with the school's motto - "Aspire, Endeavour, Achieve."
Ms Anderson was a member of the Provisional IRA and was convicted of conspiracy to cause explosions. She was in jail for 13 years before she was released under the terms of the Good Friday Agreement.
Since then, she has played a leading role in Sinn Féin. So, at what point, if any, can a former paramilitary become a role model?
