Brian makes a controversial decision, and Pip faces the inevitable.
Brian's feeling gloomy about Home Farm's gross margin figures. He's decided they need new agronomists. He and Debbie have agreed on a firm called Hardy's, and Brian assumes it'll be a routine matter. But Adam is totally opposed to the idea. Hardy's has a terrible environmental record. Jennifer's annoyed to discover that Brian has been claiming to have her support without giving her time to do any research. Adam complains to Jennifer that being businessperson of the year has gone to his head. Jennifer refuses to take Brian's word that Hardy's are the correct choice, and promises to listen to Adam's argument.
Ruth offers Pip the opportunity to talk through her options regarding the pregnancy. She's determined to make sure Pip really wants to keep the baby before they tell the whole family. Pip tells her about the appointment at the abortion clinic, and the moment when she knew she wanted the baby. Ruth wishes Pip had told her - how awful to go through that alone. Pip's worried Jill will never speak to her again once she hears that Toby is the father. Ruth reminds Pip how much Jill loves her, but offers to be the one to break the news. Pip declines. This is something she has to do herself.
