At Grey Gables Roy spends the night trying to speak to Lexi. But, with New Year fast approaching, they are both kept very busy working. Roy finally manages to catch her just as the countdown to midnight begins. He gives Lexi a necklace so that, however far apart they are, she'll always have something to remember him by. Lexi is touched, but assures him there was no need. They'll find a way to make their relationship work when she returns to Bulgaria. They kiss, and wish one another a happy New Year.

Kate invites herself to join Noluthando at The Bull. Things have been awkward between them over Christmas, and Noluthando worries that Kate will embarrass her. At The Bull Kate complains Noluthando's birthday plans are really boring. Noluthando snaps that Kate never listens to what she wants, and storms off.

Alice is surprised to find that Pip isn't drinking, and lies about buying her a non-alcoholic cocktail. When Pip discovers that she's been drinking vodka she is furious. Alice has no idea how irresponsible that was! From her reaction Alice realises that she's pregnant. She tries to congratulate Pip, who snaps that it's private.
