Dancing Back in Time

The local dance hall is making a comeback for one night only! Presenters Carrie Grant and Tura Arutura have just two weeks to convince a town to go 'Dancing Back in Time'.

Fifty years ago, every town and village had a dance hall that would be packed out at weekends with great dancers showing off their moves. Sadly, those times are long since gone, but in this show, the local dance hall is making a comeback for one night only! Carrie Grant and dancer and choreographer Tura Arutura have just two weeks to convince a town to go 'Dancing Back in Time'.

Strabane was once home to the legendary Clipper Carlton, who were the first band to stand up and put on a show for the audience. The show band was born, and the local Pallidrome Ballroom hosted thousands of dancers every Friday and Saturday night. Now, a new generation have just two weeks to learn how to swing dance before 'Dancing Back in Time' at a glitzy show band spectacular. Can supermarket workers perfect their moves in their lunch breaks? Will hairdressers cut it on the dance floor? And can a school caretaker sweep his partner off her feet?
