More about the programme

Earlier this year a landslip in Ystalyfera set in chain a series of events which has seen people leave their homes. Nine months on, local residents and officials are still grappling with its aftermath.

Geology and industrial history already mean parts of Wales are more susceptible to landslides. Now there are concerns that a changing climate could mean incidents will become even more common in the future.

Kayley Thomas visits Ystalyfera to see the impact a landslide can have on a community and explores the science of trying to forecast when they might happen.
