Ruth and David are happy to expand the Brookfield dairy herd, now that Pip's fully committed. They expect Pip to return to Rickyard, but she'd like to stay at Lower Loxley a while longer.

Matt's still relying on Lilian for everything. She'd prefer to call an ambulance, but Matt wants to move to another hotel now that people have seen him at Grey Gables. He snaps at Lilian - if she isn't happy she can leave him to it. After all, she chose Justin. Back at the Dower House, Lilian takes a call from her friend Mena, who's keen to talk to Matt about a horse she sold him. Lilian's curious and invites Mena for a ride to hear more. She learns that Mena's concerned about Matt choosing an inferior horse. Alistair confirms that the horse Matt rejected would have been far more suitable for his employers' needs.

Harrison visits Matt, and wonders why he discharged himself from hospital so early. Matt would like the police to drop their investigation, which Harrison thinks is an odd reaction to almost being killed. Harrison then calls in on Lilian to establish Justin's whereabouts on the night. As far as she's concerned Justin had a migraine, and came straight home, alone.
