The 1947 film 'New Orleans' was generally considered to have been a fiasco, but the sound track with performances by Louis Armstrong and Billie Holiday is of considerable interest. Excerpts from a newly released CD make interesting listening. Plus, Johnny Parker and his British Jazz All Stars, recorded at the Bull in Barnes for an American label, show's him at the peak of his playing form.
