Bringing back the Beaver

Eye on Wales goes on the hunt for signs of a shy, nocturnal animal not seen in the wilds of Wales for centuries.

Beavers were hunted to extinction in the Middle Ages. They’re now back in Scotland and England and there are plans to return them to Wales too.

Supporters believe they will bring benefits, both environmental and economic. But there are people in the countryside who remain to be convinced.
