Orchestral Special

The BBC Asian Network is one of few forces that have the ability to bring a full symphony orchestra and a British Asian, Pakistani or Bollywood singer, together on one stage, to perform some of the biggest hits in Hindi or Pakistani film history.

The Asian Network has been fusing this cross cultural music and genres together for a number of years now and in this Asian Network Presents, Orchestra Special, Bobby Friction, looks back at some of the most outstanding performances from Sona Mohapatra, Shazia Manzoor, Jaz Dhami, Palak Muchal, Benny Dayal and Quratulain Balouch, who sing alongside the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra in what can only be described as a mash-up of epic sounds on an an epic scale.
