Adam's surprised that Johnny's interested in work at Home Farm. Johnny's particularly excited by the high-tech kit there, but concedes that he probably has too little experience. Adam encourages him to stop focussing on the negatives. Johnny says he's hard-working, reliable, and good with machinery. And he would put in extra hours to increase his experience. Adam declares he would be happy to consider his application.

Oliver calls a staff meeting to make an announcement about the future of Grey Gables. Lynda and Roy wonder if he's selling up. Lynda's convinced that he showed round a potential purchaser a few weeks ago. Oliver reports he was indeed made a very reasonable offer by the Accomplish Hotel Group, but, to everyone's relief, has declined to sell. In fact he intends to live at Grey Gables permanently.

Roy worries about Phoebe. After finding her pregnancy test he wonders if he can trust her to be sensible when she goes travelling. Phoebe insists that she's always sensible, and her recent pregnancy scare will make her more so. But she also embarrassed Roy by letting him think the test was Lexi's. Phoebe realises that her dad fancies Lexi. She thinks they'd be good together, and insists that he gives Lexi a call.
