Emma's resolve is broken, and Alistair tries to explain.

Alistair's pleased to see Anisha - they're doing an operation on a horse together but have avoided each other for most of the week. Anisha assures him that she wouldn't miss her work - she just needed some space. Alistair tries to explain why he wasn't upfront about his past. He adds that they work well together and he can't imagine the business without her.

Anisha's grateful for Alistair's help through the procedure. Alistair emphasises again they're a good team. Anisha asks what turned things around for Alistair. He describes the significant moment involving Matt and his unscrupulous approach to dealing with a lame horse. This led to Alistair coming clean to Shula and repaying Matt every greasy penny he owed.

Chris and Alice are throwing a party next week to celebrate his ownership of the forge. Emma is defensive when she overhears Chris commenting to Ed about her stand at the parish council meeting. Clarrie walks in on the siblings arguing. Clarrie comforts upset Emma who tears up her scrapbook that was helping her visualise the home she wants. Clarrie encourages her not to give up. Emma's clear she won't be going to Chris's party.
