The judges are comedy writer and presenter Clive Anderson, comedian Tom Allen, and BBC Radio Comedy's Julia Mackenzie.
The best new acts compete for a place in the final being broadcast live on BBC Radio 4 at 6.15pm on Sunday 13th August.
