Jill makes an announcement, and Brian is in full voice.

The Duxford sisters are special guests at today's fete, with Lulu doing the opening and Miriam judging competitions. Jill's disappointed in Alistair for not coming good with a special raffle prize. But more happily she has found a book on preserving landscapes (and is keen to show it to Justin!) Emma is resentful of opposition to the Bridge Farm housing development - don't people realise how hard it is for her generation to get on the housing ladder?

With the PA system out of action, Brian's persuaded to dress up as a town crier - softened by the promise of meeting the Duxfords. The Echo gets some photos of Jill with the Duxfords and Jill announces that all unused food at Les Soeurs Heureuses will go the Happy Friends Café. Outraged by Jill's audacity, Lulu defends her restaurant and pointedly gives Jill a VIP ticket for its gala opening. Brian tries to charm Lulu, as a fellow businessperson, but she does her best to evade him. Brian has to leave in his town crier outfit after Jazzer tells him the zip is stuck.

At the fete a fight breaks out between the pickers and a group of local youths. Ed steps and breaks it up. Jazzer wonders what the hell is happening to their village.
