The world's most prestigious opera singing competition returns to St David's Hall in Cardiff as 20 singers compete to become the next BBC Cardiff Singer of the World.

Tim Rhys-Evans presents highlights of the opening round, with Josie D'Arby on hand to provide all the competition news.

Welsh soprano Elin Manahan Thomas and Cardiff-born Rosemary Joshua will provide expert insight as singers from Italy, Russia, the USA, Norway and Mongolia battle it out for a place in the grand final.
