Pip has a surprise visitor, and Pat has lots of questions.
Helen's concerned that there doesn't seem to be much opposition to the intensive pig unit at Berrow Farm. She asks Pat to babysit so that she can support Kirsty at the Parish Council meeting. Pat thinks that the time to act will be when the planning notices go up, but Helen stresses the importance of raising awareness. Pat wonders whether it has to be Helen who takes such a public stand. Helen appreciates the concern, but the family knows she can look after herself.
At The Bull there's a Young Farmers evening. Johnny's still riding high on the news that Amber has agreed to come to the Isle of Wight Festival. Meanwhile, Pip enquires about the Relief Milking Agency with a friend called Todd. During his break Toby asks Pip to introduce him, but she brushes him off - he'd be bored by farmer talk.
Toby confesses to Rex how hard it is to be around Pip. Is he being too optimistic about their chances of getting back together? Rex points out that becoming friends after a break-up can take years. Later, Toby turns up at Lower Loxley. He's reached a decision. Being friends is too hard. Pip needs to get out of his life.
