Hollyoaks star, Annie Wallace, the first transgender actress to play a regular transgender role in a TV soap, tells Edi Stark about growing up in Aberdeen where she experienced horrific bullying at school. She transitioned in the late eighties and felt compelled to live a secret life but that changed when a new character appeared on Coronation Street. In 1998, she wrote to the actress Julie Hesmondhalgh who played Hayley, the first Trans character in a soap and began a friendship which has changed her life and career.
