Amourous Amphibians - It's frog spawn season and do you know if you've got common frogs and toads breeding in your garden pond, school pond or other local ponds? Anyone can take part in the PondNet Spawn Survey 2017 and all the information you need, including identification training and survey forms can be found on the Freshwater Habitats Trust website

Menai the Turtle - last November an Olive Ridley turtle from the warm tropical waters of the South Atlantic was stranded on Tan y Foel beach just opposite the Anglesey Sea Zoo. It's the first known instance of this named species being recorded in Britain and we hear how she's making a recovery.
