Amourous Amphibians - It's frog spawn season and do you know if you've got common frogs and toads breeding in your garden pond, school pond or other local ponds? Anyone can take part in the PondNet Spawn Survey 2017 and all the information you need, including identification training and survey forms can be found on the Freshwater Habitats Trust website 

Lawn Mowing - a plea to local authorities and members of the public to cut back on cutting the grass to increase biodiversity and help local wildlife

Menai the Turtle - last November an Olive Ridley turtle from the warm tropical waters of the South Atlantic was stranded on Tan y Foel beach just opposite the Anglesey Sea Zoo. It's the first known instance of this named species being recorded in Britain and we hear how she's making a recovery. Hides - this week, winners of Welsh 'Rural Oscars' will be travelling to London for the British finals of the Countryside Alliance awards. Among them is Hayley Hanson who won the Best Farm Enterprise category for her business transforming the hides of cattle into all kinds of leather goods and built on a belief that every part of a beast should be used
