As Lilian and Justin meet up for a hack, they praise Shula and Alistair for their quick and efficient actions over the damaged roof at the Hunt kennels. Alistair reports the last of the injured hounds is fit to return to the pack, and Shula's on top of the repair quotes.

Enthusing about the vet practice's new website, Shula remarks it's a pity the open day has to be cancelled. And more bad news follows as Shula breaks it to Alistair they have to pay for the Hunt kennels' roof repair; it's £8,000. Alistair's not happy, but Shula points out he's just spent much more on the surgery refurbishment so he can't really talk.

Lilian apologises to Justin for her shocked reaction to his proposal last week. Justin understands; he blames himself. But he warns Lilian that if she considers herself not the marrying kind, he's out to prove her wrong.

Tom and Kirsty catch up and he gives her a present from Brazil. They both agree that sadness about their recent loss catches them unawares sometimes. Kirsty's apprehensive about her upcoming consultant appointment. Tom offers to go with her. Kirsty says that would be nice. Later, Tom calls Alistair - one of the Anguses has lost her calf. He really hopes this isn't what he thinks it is.
