The Lodestone

Cambridge scholar MR James searches for an ex-student - an artist whose hand is guided by eerie forces. Stars David March.

MR James, the distinguished Cambridge scholar and a brilliant teller of supernatural tales, finds himself caught up in a series of strange, inexplicable events.

The quest for a mysterious tombstone that appears to move about the country involves him with witchcraft and, eventually, a terrible tragedy.

Sheila Hodgson portrays MR James as the diarist of a series of fictional ghost stories.
