The 12 remaining chefs, whittled down from 48, meet in the MasterChef kitchen for a culinary showdown. They are presented with a surprise selection of ingredients with which to make one savoury dish. And to test them further, all hi-tech equipment has been removed from the kitchen.
With just two hours and 15 minutes to deliver that make-or-break plate of food, nerves are running high. Eight contestants will progress directly, while the bottom four face-off for two more places in the next round.
