In More Detail.....

Forty years ago the award winning children's author, Michael Morpurgo began the first chapter of what he's described as his "greatest story". Since 1976 the charity, 'Farms for City Children" has been offering urban children from all over the UK the opportunity to live and work for a week on a real farm in the heart of the countryside. Rachael Garside visits Lower Treginnis Farm just outside St Davids, in Pembrokeshire - one of the three farms acquired by the charity founded by Michael and Claire Morpurgo.
