Claire Foy in The Crown

Actor Claire Foy in The Crown; Woman's Hour Power List; violence against women in Latin America; our final make-up staple: foundation.

The actress Claire Foy first came to our attention playing Amy Dorrit in the BBC's adaptation of Little Dorrit. She received rave reviews as Anne Boleyn in the BBC's adaptation of Hillary Mantel's Wolf Hall. Now she's turned her attention to another Queen, that of Elizabeth II in the new Netflix series 'The Crown' written by Peter Morgan.

This year's Power List will celebrate seven women who've made the biggest impact on women's lives over the past seventy years. Judges will decide who's on the list but who should they be considering? In this final discussion before the judges meet Jenni is joined by the Church of England's first female Bishop, Libby Lane, business professor Heather McGregor, and law professor Rosemary Auchmuty to discuss their suggestions for women in public life.

On 19th October tens of thousands of women took to the streets in Argentina to protest against the brutal killing of 16 year-old Lucia Perez. The horror sparked sympathy protests across Latin America. Jenni is joined by Marcela Fuentes, a member of "Ni Una Menos" the feminist movement that initiated the protests in Argentina, Luise Bello from the NGO "Think Olga" in Brazil, and Kathia activist and campaigner from Peru to discuss their experiences of violence and protest in their countries, the role social media is playing in turning the tide, and what needs to happen now to address the culture of "machismo" being held accountable.

Our series looking at five beauty staples ends with foundation. Used by women to hide skin imperfections, it can be traced back as far as ancient Greece but it was only in the 18th century that we stopped using lead and chalk powder which caused disfigurement and death....Luckily, ingredients have improved since then. Jenni speaks to beauty writer and author of Pretty Iconic, Sali Hughes and make-up artist to the stars Mary Greenwell about why foundation is a beauty must have.
