The top eight players battling for the £100,000 first prize include the 2016 world champion Gary Anderson, the 'best player of all time' Phil Taylor, and the current world number one Michael van Gerwen.

This afternoon's opening round-robin match is Gary Anderson against 26-year-old Michael Smith, followed by Adrian Lewis v James Wade, Phil Taylor v Peter Wright and Michael van Gerwen v Robert Thornton.
