Rex is back in Ambridge, and Josh is honest with Johnny.

Rex is back in Ambridge, and Josh and David quickly establish that he hasn't caught up with Toby, or his news, yet. Josh thinks they should stay well out of it. Meanwhile Pip peers out of the window at Rickyard and lets Toby know the coast is clear. But she doesn't want to play hide and seek with Rex. She urges Toby to let him know they're an item. He promises - first chance he gets. But later as she catches up with Rex, she realises he's still in the dark, and she pointedly leaves him and Toby to it.
Josh has been entrusted with buying a new mower, with a strict price limit, and Johnny accompanies him to a farm sale. Johnny quizzes Josh on his gap year, Josh confides in him that it might become permanent. He just doesn't see how having a degree will make him a better farmer. He reckons there could be great opportunities in the future, if he's smart enough to grab them. He returns to Brookfield having secured a mower under budget.

As Rex and Toby work and chat about their dad, Toby paves the way for breaking the news about him and Pip. But Rex's protestations that he doesn't want to be forced to watch Pip with someone else cause Toby to backtrack, and he chickens out.
