More about the programme:
With feats of stamina and skill, the Paralympics keep on revealing extraordinary gifts, and challenging long-held perceptions of people with disabilities. But how far has this moved beyond sport? What is the reality for people who’ll never be competing, let alone expecting medals?
On this week’s All Things Considered Roy Jenkins and guests are not looking at the Paralympics, but at how people with disabilities are regarded more generally. As problems requiring solutions? Or as persons with qualities which the rest of society needs? And how should religious faith shape and inform our thinking in all this?
Roy is joined by:
Dr Tony Ruchinski, the Rev WIill Morrey, Rev Professor Frances Young and
Rev Professor John Swinton
