Sinn Fein says it would welcome an inquiry into the back channel contacts between its ex-MLA Daithi McKay and loyalist Jamie Bryson.
Mr McKay has resigned from Stormont after revelations from this show and the Irish News that he and another Sinn Fein party member had given secret advice to Mr Bryson. Sinn Fein says that the party had absolutely no knowledge of the contacts. Other parties won't accept that Daithi McKay acted alone.
Also on the programme, shock at waiting times of up to two and a half years to see a spinal consultant in the Belfast Trust.

A pain in the back - waiting times of up to nearly two and a half years to see a spinal consultant

Nearly two and a half years or 120 weeks. That's how long people are waiting to see a consultant for back problems in the Belfast Trust. The Nolan show has been told by the trust that it "is extremely sorry for the extended delays that our spinal patients are experiencing; however, the demand for spinal appointments exceeds the capacity available within the Trust. This is despite additional clinics put in place by our spinal surgeons to reduce waiting times. We will continue to add in additional clinics and hope in time that the current routine wait of approximately 120 weeks will reduce."
