A sozzled stag party guest from Northern Ireland took a strip club to court after he blew £7,500 in five hours, claiming he was taken advantage of for being drunk. The man from Portstewart spent the money on strippers and booze at Spearmint Rhino in Bournemouth three years ago.After the judge suggested there might be no clear winner in the case, the parties agreed to settle, and the club did not admit any wrongdoing. They say when the drink's in, the wit's out - is being drunk ever an excuse?

The Home Office has settled a case with a black woman for £2,000 after she alleged an immigration officer at Belfast City Airport stopped her because she "looked foreign".Her case, which was supported by the Equality Commission, was settled out of court with no admission of liability.
