He was the man who gave Sinatra Witchcraft, Tony Bennett The Best is Yet to Come and Sammy Davis, Jr The Rhythm of Life.

He was the six-year-old child prodigy who gave piano recitals at Carnegie Hall; he grew up to be one of the most successful songwriters and composers in musical theatre history, winning five Tony Awards, two Grammys and three Emmys; his shows included Sweet Charity, starring Shirley Maclaine, Wildcat, starring Lucille Ball, and Barnum, which starred Jim Dale and Glenn Close on Broadway and Michael Crawford in London.

BBC Radio 2’s Sunday Night is Music Night celebrates the life and work of the great Cy Coleman. With the 60-piece BBC Concert Orchestra conducted by Mike Reed (Barnum, Sunset Boulevard), The Capital Voices and a stellar cast from London’s West End. Starring Michael Xavier, Siobhan Dillon, Ria Jones and Tam Mutu.
