Rob Heard and Commodore Jake Moores

19240 Shrouds of the Somme is an art project in aid of the Exeter Foundation and Military Charities. Artist Rob Heard is creating 19,240 figurines to represent the soldiers killed on the first day of the Battle of the Somme. On July 1, 1916, 100,000 British troops went 'over the top' but almost a fifth were killed. We speak to Rob, who conceived the 19240 Shrouds of the Somme project and Commodore Jake Moores who is Chair of the 19240 Shrouds of the Somme Committee and previously spent 37 years in the Navy.
