The Boy with No Hands

Documentary following Alan Gifford, who is being given the chance to receive a state of the art £30,000 bionic hand after having had his hands removed at the age of three.

When Alan Gifford was three, his mother had to make the agonising decision to remove his hands in order to save his life due to complications following a heart operation. Now the ten-year-old from Loughor, south Wales, is being given the chance to become the first child in Wales and the second youngest in the world to receive a state of the art £30,000 bionic hand. Will Alan be able to learn to use the hand at such a young age, and how will it change his life? This is Alan's journey.
